When I first read this quote, I immediately thought of two people I’m always happy to see leave a room. Positive attitude or no – these people get on my nerves. Then, I paused, and looked introspectively. During the times I’m dealing with stuff I have to be careful, because sadness, despair, worry, stress, complaining, anxiety, and self-pity are all reasons people are happy to see others leave a room.
You can be the nicest person in the world, but if your attitude is a drowner (for whatever reason) people will be relieved to see you go. Sure, you may have family and friends willing to support and comfort you, but you are kidding yourself if you belief they don’t get tired of lifting you up if you lean on them all th time.
You do need to be aware of one exception – misery loves company so if you are hanging around someone who is downer, you may want to rethink this or at least limit your interaction.
