This quotes serves as a reminder that no matter what you are going through others are going through things too. This was a tough lesson for me to learn, because when trouble or adversity strikes we are usually more concerned with our situation. I used to think, “Spare a smile? Please. If anything someone should spare a smile for me.” Guess what? Somebody did. Her name was Ann.
Ann was dealing with what I like to term monster problems. Her husband was cheating on her and she was concerned because her job was in jeopardy due to a pending company reorganization. I watched her. In spite of her problems, she focused on others.
One day I asked Ann how she could focus on others so much with her own issues? She said, “That’s the secret. It feels good to know you can help others. Being kind to others also smoothed her pain and hurt.”
Never get so caught up in your own problems, because you’ll lose sight of two very important facts:
1. Somebody somewhere is dealing with problems similar or bigger than yours.
2. You’ll miss a great two for oner. Meaning – being kind to others can soothe your emotions while helping someone else.
Being kind is a small but huge thing. Do not let your current situation turn you into someone you do not like. Follow positive quotes: use kindness.
