Here’s an inspirational thought for the day – how would you like to improve the start to each and every day with one simple action? Yes – one simple action is all it will take. There is a caveat, however. This one action will require you to repeat it for at least 21 days in the hope it develops into a positive habit you can reap the benefits for a lifetime.
Here is what you simply must do. When you wake up first thing in the morning – make sure your first thought is positive. That’s it.
You Can Turn the Odds For A More Positive Day In Your Favor
Why is this important? It’s a known fact that people who are more positive have a better outlook on life, are happier in general, and deal with challenges and adversity better. Therefore, if you can start your day with an positive thought you increase the odds to experience more positive things in your day. Also, when you are rested you are more receptive to positive thinking so try to take advantage of this time.
How do you go about this? You must simply tune into your thinking first thing in the morning. Be alert to your first thoughts. If you are the type of person who starts by thinking of all the problems you must deal with for the day – then start by focusing on your breathing. This will help you divert the subconscious thoughts automatically feeding you thinking. Once you become aware of your first thoughts – if your thoughts are negative then counter with a positive thought. Make a game of it if you have to.
An Attempt and Practice Is All That You Need
Practice is key. If you need help, rely on inspirational thoughts or positive quotes. As you exercise your positive thinking muscle, it will get stronger over time. When I started using this method to improve my thinking, I chose to focus on the sounds, smells, and visions around me. Nothing is as beautiful as birds chirping each morning, or the sun shining, or my family’s morning greeting. Truthfully, I’m just happy to have another day to do better, to learn, to grow, and to encourage others. Now it’s your turn. What are you grateful for each day? Train yourself so this is your first thought.
Give this action a try. What’s the worst that could happen? Well – you think a negative thought. However, the positive is you’ve taken the first step to change how you think. If you think a negative thought the next time, counter again with something positive. Then view things for what they are – another step in the right direction. Over time, you will see a difference.
