Inspirational thoughts for this post come from the following positive quote:
My life has a superb cast but I can’t figure out the plot. ~Ashleigh Brilliant
You’re the star of your life, now do you have a plot? How do you want your life story to go?
The following quote got me to thinking about the impact of the lack of direction (goals) and planning in our lives. Have you ever wondered how it happens? How do you get so caught up in every day living and circumstances that one day you look up and find yourself in a job you do not like; an unhappy relationship; or with regrets for something you wished you had or had not done?
It’s not that you do not try or have good intentions to set goals and plan; but, life so easily gets in the way and throws you off course. How are you supposed to overcome that?
Plotting a New course:
It’s been written that people who pursue their life’s passion, set goals, and work to achieve them live happier more fulfilling lives. Let’s be honest, I think many of us struggle, because we get weighed down by every day life. Often, we wonder where to find the time (let alone energy) to figure out how to change things in our lives for the better – let alone where to start.
Do you know what I learned? It’s the people who are resolved to make a change no matter how much weight of the world they carry on their backs. It’s the people who get knocked down repeatedly but always get up – no matter how much it hurts. It’s the people who decide they do not like the way their life stories are being played out and decide to rewrite the plot. These are the type of people who decide to view things from a different perspective. You see, they are afraid to keep going as they are because life is too short and they fear not experiencing the things they are deserving of.
Rewrite Your Plot a Scene at a Time:
I think the mistake we often make is thinking we have to change everything NOW or that we must have everything figured out NOW. No – you don’t. Plots are written one word or goal at a time; revisions are made; and made again. Here’s what you have to remember, if you have no planned plot – you’ll probably experience more uncertainty and challenges. When it comes to your life, ultimately, you’re the writer, the director, and the STAR. You remain the star no matter what; however, you chose (through inaction or by decision) who takes over as the writer and director of your life.
