These inspirational thoughts are for those of you who are wondering when things will get better, because it seems you’ve been dealing with your negative situation for a long time. I’m writing this post, because I can relate.
While it’s true we search for inspiration during tough or challenging times; let’s be honest, that advice can be hard to follow. Let me be frank, when my dear friend, who I loved, passed away several years ago, the last thing I wanted to hear was “give it time.” I was hurting and wanted the pain to go away then. Also, when I had a job I absolutely hated, I didn’t want to hear “stick it out and work towards something better.” I was miserable and wanted out then.
Things Are Better Now: Sounds Great Doesn’t It?
You want positive change now and I can’t blame you for that. We all want that. Your reality is quite different though. There are several positive quotes that are so powerful that I have to share them with you. Here is the first:
Do what you can, with what you have, where you are. ~ Theodore Roosevelt
Here’s what it means – you do not have to remain a victim to your situation. Find encouragement from this. Dig deep within yourself and you’ll find a starting place. Do some little thing or some little action to move yourself forward. It doesn’t need to be much.
For instance, my friend that passed away – I missed (and still miss) her dearly. I wondered how I’d make it without her unfaltering friendship. You know how it goes when something bad or unpleasant happens in your life. You go through a million different emotions (or at least I do) – you get angry, you play victim, you stew over the unfairness of it all…… Do you know my small step? I decided to honor my friend by celebrating her life and our friendship. That meant stopping the pity party. Some people never have a friend like her and I was lucky.
Additionally, do you know what small step I took to change my job situation? At the time, I decided to increase my performance to the point where they had no choice but to promote me. I decided to use my negative feelings as motivation to create something better. It worked! Now here’s the second powerful quote:
Do not wait for ideal circumstances, nor the best opportunities; they will never come. ~ Janet Erskine Stuart
These inspirational thoughts remind me that sometimes we need to stop dwelling on our unwanted circumstances and simply take action to change them. Ever hear the saying “staying busy prevents an idle mind?” Well, if you spend your time constructively working to better your situation, you will have less time to think negatively about it.
So here is the answer to the question: When will things get better? Answer: I don’t know. However, I do know you’re dealing with your situation now – so help yourself along. Take action – no matter how small. It’ll be in a step in the right direction. And remember – things WILL eventually get better.

Thank you Antonia,
I appreciate your comments. I’ve been where you are, so I understand. Hang in there and keep focusing on finding that energy. If you do – somehow you’ll find it.
