Inspirational thoughts of the day center around our busy lives. One of the biggest culprits for stress and unhappiness can result from the hectic pace at which we live our lives.
Unfortunately, many of us have so much to do that we simply keep pushing ourselves. Let me pose a question to you. Have you ever pushed yourself to just do “one more thing?” I have. I’m sure being too busy is a dilemma many of us face.
At times, it can seem that life dictates we stay busy. Additionally, many of us rarely use “days off” or so-called “vacation time” for complete relaxation or enjoyment. Now, if you’re one of those lucky folks who actually use your vacation time this way, then congratulations! As for the rest of us – well…….
Rest when you`re weary. Refresh and renew yourself, your body, your mind, your spirit. Then get back to work. ~ Ralph Marston
The truth of the matter is – we need to build the appropriate amount of time to rest and renew into our days. Personally, I find that taking a break and resting is one of the best ways to become rejuvenated and productive.
However, I sometimes feel guilty for thinking about taking a rest in the first place. Does this ever happen to you? You see, I’ve learned that taking a rest does not mean you are lazy or wasting time. No. It’s something that our body needs. Often times, the signs are there but we simply ignore them.
Sometimes the most urgent thing you can possibly do is take a complete rest. ~ Ashleigh Brillia
As with anything, it’s when you do it to extremes that problems can result. Therefore, the next time you are feeling fatigued, overwhelmed, stressed, or even frustrated – take a rest. Give yourself a chance to renew. Simply do not over do it.
Better yet, make sure you get the appropriate amount of sleep you need each night. I know…I know, this can be a challenge. So, start small. Get the sleep you need on some nights. Hey, it all helps.
