Following are wise inspirational thoughts to help deal with illness. Whether dealing with your own health or someone precious to you, positive inspiring words are critical. I’ve personally learned that you heal better, and faster, when you fill your mind with hope and focus on getting well. I don’t care what your prognosis, don’t let it stop YOU from trying. You can find strength. You can be strong. YOU CAN DO IT.
From my own personal experience in dealing with a brain tumor I’ve learned that no matter how afraid, frightened, or sick you are, you DO influence this challenging journey in your life.
Regardless of how tired you are; regardless of how weak you feel; always remember that you are going through what you’re going through and nothing can change the moment. But, you either increase your
odds for a better recovery or you hurt them.
If you’ve never heard it before, your mind is powerful. Thoughts run rampant and you constantly have internal conversations with yourself. You think things. Well, here’s your challenge…during this time where you are so tempted to think negative thoughts, I urge you to think of getting well. SEE yourself getting better. You can do it. This is where those precious inspirational thoughts come in.
I clung to the following inspirational thoughts during one of the most challenging health issues I’ve ever faced:
Rejoice and exult in hope; be steadfast and patient in suffering and tribulations: be constant in prayer. ~ Romans 12:12
This is when you need to dig deep and believe in a higher power. Whatever you believe in, reach for it and ask for courage and strength. When I was not well, I actually purchased 5×7 index cards from the Dollar Store. I
wrote the previous inspirational thoughts as well as the following:
In order to change we must be sick and tired of being sick and tired. ~ Inspirational Thoughts Unknown
Get into battle mode. Fight for YOU. Before I went ahead with my brain surgery I took a little time to get into the right frame of mind. I didn’t want to be a victim….dealing in gloom and doom. My thoughts center around appreciation. I learned to appreciate all of the healthy times in my life. I looked forward to experiencing more. The above thoughts helped keep me focus on my goal.
Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional. ~ Inspirational Thoughts by M. Kathleen Casey
This serves as another reminder that you DO have some say in how you react you what your going through. You make a choice – consciously or subconsciously.
Warning: Humor may be hazardous to your illness. ~ Inspirational Thoughts by Ellie Katz
Granted, you may not feel like laughing when you do not feel well and I’m not asking you to. The goal is to simply expose yourself to humor. It can’t hurt. While you may not flat out laugh or even smile, you give yourself a dose of positivity.
Another thing you can try is to find simple pleasures to appreciate - a couple holding hands, a child’s laughter. Watching the sunrise. Find the small beautiful things in life and look forward to seeing them tomorrow. I use this method to help me picture my tomorrows. I vowed that I’d overcome my brain tumor with flying colors. Guess What?!?! I did.
Let me be clear. My efforts didn’t mean I was less afraid, because I was very scared. It didn’t mean that my fears went away, because they didn’t. However, I build up my hope and I relied on my faith. I placed myself in the hands of my Heavenly Father and he helped me through.
Now it’s your turn. Find those inspirational thoughts that provide the motivational spark you need, then write them down. Now carry your inspirational words with you. It can make a world of difference to your recovery.
Now I’d like to end with a Bible quote that has helped me over the years. May you find inspiration from it as well.
When I said, “My foot is slipping,” your love, O Lord, supported me. When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought joy to my soul. ~ Psalm 94:18-19
