Goal Setting
SMART Goals Are The Ones You Achieve
Sunday, January 6th, 2008Ever since I can remember, I’ve been told to set SMART goals. These are goals that are specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and timely.
Let face it, we all KNOW we are suppose to set goals. Truthfully, we can learn to set SMART goals, but that doesn’t mean we are going to achieve them. Isn’t that the main problem? At least that is my challenge. It’s not goal setting, it’s goal getting that challenging.
I’ve often wondered how do I achieve my goals when I’m already stretched for time? I juggle many different tasks and can’t imagine how I’m going to squeeze goal getting into the mix of my busy day.
Power Up For Goal Achievement
Saturday, January 5th, 2008You must power up for goal achievement with preparation. There’s a rule in life called sowing and reaping and we all must do it to achieve lasting success. Just like a farmer works his fields, preparing the soil and planting the seeds for a future harvest, we must do the same.
For instance, I have a goal to live a healthier life. That means that I have to prepare to do this. I’ve been reading on how to eat healthier and implementing healthier foods into my diet. I’ve also implemented a exercise routine and take vitamins. While my results were not immediate, I have seen progress and I know I will experience goal achievement down the road.
Planning for Success
Friday, January 4th, 2008Today when I was cleaning out my files I ran across information for project planning and management for success. It struck me that the principles described laid a solid foundation for anyone seeking success. With a New Year, why not plan for success using the below success guide as follows:
S elect a dream. What is something you need or desire to accomplish?
U se your dream to set a goal. Why not take one small step towards making your dream a reality? The difference between those who success and those who don’t is action.
Personal Goal Setting For Achievement
Wednesday, January 2nd, 2008I thought about personal goal setting today, because I’m in the process of reviewing my personal goal setting progress. I can’t begin to explain the sense of accomplishment I feel when I able to cross a goal off my list because I have completed it. Nonetheless, I will admit that personal goal setting is a process for me - one which I continue to practice and revise as I go along. I’d be lying if I said I accomplished every goal I set out to achieve, but I do accomplish those goals I deem important or necessary.
