For The Love Of Naps
Wednesday, January 2nd, 2008I love naps. It’s one of my favorite activities to rejuvenate my energy in the middle of the day. I was surprised when my local newspaper wrote an article explaining how nap taking helps reduce heart attacks. Additionally, I read in Business 2.0 that sleep (naps) is big business. Did you know that there are companies that specialize in naps for busy business people?
4 Steps To Finding Contentment
Wednesday, January 2nd, 2008I think everyone wants contentment in life. At least I know that I do. My problem is that my life moves at an extremely fast pace every single day. I have work, I have kids, I have a husband, I have housework, I have goals to achieve, I have bills to pay, I have a multitude of demands on my time stretching my energy and efforts to the max. Everyday, I’m striving and working towards something. Would I ever find contentment? I doubted it.
With all of the craziness in my life, it’s no wonder when I first researched contentment and how to attain it, I was extremely skeptical.
Challenges of Health Wellness With Food
Monday, December 10th, 2007Like many people, I am striving for health wellness. I’ve implemented an exercise regiment and I am attempting to eat better. The problem, however, is the cost of eating healthier. While I will not argue that the price of not eating healthier has longer-term impacts, affording healthier foods can be challenging.
For instance, in my efforts for health wellness I always searched for healthy foods to have for lunch. With an extremely busy schedule, it is not easy to pack a lunch everyday, so I buy my lunch. I was shocked to discover that I can purchase a fast food hamburger, fries, and drink for under $3.00, but I’d have to pay at least $6.00 for a healthy meal of half a sandwich and homemade soup with fresh veggies. Not to mention, if I wanted to add bottled water to the mix, I’d be adding another $1.50.
